ARTDOCK x NOVUS ARTE
Visual arts EXHIBITION
ABOUT
StartDock, the coworking space in the historic building at Singel 126 in Amsterdam, opens its doors to a wider audience with an exhibition in collaboration with Novus Arte. It offers a rare opportunity to experience contemporary art in a space usually reserved for its members.
The exhibition highlights the parallels between artistic and entrepreneurial practices, rooted in independence and experimentation. Curated by Novus Arte, it brings together emerging and established artists whose works are placed throughout the building, creating a dialogue with its architecture and everyday environment.

MEET THE ARTISTS
Eelco van Loenen is an entrepreneur and multidisciplinary artist based in Monnickendam. His work, held in international collections including Schiphol and ABN AMRO, offers a fresh perspective on everyday themes.
Working across painting, sculpture, text, and design, he is known for an intuitive, layered approach. Recurring symbols like the dot and square reflect ideas of focus, beginnings, and life’s stages, anchoring his introspective practice.
Ernesto creates colourful portraits using LEGO®, playing with perception: up close, the familiar bricks appear; from a distance, the image resolves into a face. Notably, he works without software, relying solely on his painter’s eye.
He gained recognition on Sterren op het Doek, winning with his portrait of Arjen Lubach, and has created live works such as an Ed Sheeran portrait at the Fries Museum. His work has been exhibited at Kunsthal Rotterdam and Teylers Museum, and is widely shared across the international art world.
Fhatuwani Mukheli is a Soweto-born artist working across painting, photography, and film. Known for his strong visual storytelling, he moves between the art world and pop culture, collaborating with brands such as Diesel, Scotch & Soda, Superdry, and Red Bull.
Inspired by his childhood and his mother’s influence, his work often centers on themes of parent and child. Using a mix of acrylic, charcoal, fine liner, and spray paint, he creates emotionally resonant pieces that emphasize art’s capacity for reflection and healing.
Nathalie Bopp is a German-French visual artist based in Germany, working across close-up portrait painting and large-scale outdoor installations. Her practice explores the relationship between humans and nature, with a focus on perception and environmental awareness.
Since 2017, she has focused on installations of close-up human eyes in natural settings, creating a dialogue between human presence and the environment.
Justice Mukheli is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, photography, film, and performance. Rooted in his experience in Soweto, his practice explores identity, belonging, and the self.
Using his own image as a point of inquiry, he engages with themes of Black masculinity, faith, love, and memory. His fluid, layered process moves between mediums, creating work that is both deeply personal and broadly resonant.
Willemijn Johanna Delfos is a Dutch photographer and creative producer. Her work uses photography to construct an idealized reality, focusing on tonal harmony and contrast to create a sense of simplicity and depth.
With a background in fashion photography and production, she brings a strong fashion sensibility to her storytelling, navigating the space between art and commercial work.
Annelore Bensink & Fredrik Erichsen are a Dutch-German artist duo combining visual and sculptural practices. Their collaborative works bring emotion and material into dialogue, presented here through newly developed pieces.
Annelore creates intuitive, layered compositions exploring the space between inner perception and the external world, while Fredrik merges craftsmanship with influences from graffiti, brutalism, and pop culture. Together, their work bridges poetic abstraction and bold material expression.
